Pre and Post Natal support Pre and Post Natal Support

Pregnancy and birth are very powerful time for new mums. The body goes through so many changes putting a strain on the mums-to-be. Nausea, body aches, emotional and hormonal changes are just some of the challenges worth mentioning.

Apart from a regular exercise and a healthy diet, complementary therapies can offer a great support throughout pregnancy and promote a sense of well being.

The physical and emotional wellbeing of the mother will have a profound effect on the baby also.

Gowri Mota in her book “gentle birth” method recommends pregnancy massage, reflexology, bowen therapy and craniosacral therapy as all suporting the women and their pregnancies.

They can also be used after the birth (post-partum) to bring the body back to balance, and help recovery after labour.

I use reflexology to support overall wellbeing and help with natural induction of the baby towards later stages of preganancy .

Pre and post natal massage and bowen therapy can be used for aches and pains associated with pregnancy and post-partum period.

Craniosacral therapy is a powerful tool in balancing the emotions, the nervous system and the energetic body particilarly after the labour both new mums.

Babies often enter the world in less than ideal circumstances – cord around the neck, use of forceps. emergency c-section to name a few. Craniosacral therapy helps to release the birth trauma and help the newborns to settle into their new life outside of the womb.
